Twenty-five years ago, a small group of project management professionals in Thailand came together with a shared belief: that structured, principled project management could make a real difference — in organizations, in communities, and in the world. Today, the PMI Thailand Chapter celebrates that quarter-century of impact with a milestone that reaches beyond boardrooms and into the soil of Kenya and Madagascar.
A Milestone Worth Planting
To mark the Chapter's 25th anniversary, PMI Global partnered with Evertreen — a platform dedicated to reforestation and measurable environmental impact — to plant 100 trees in the PMI Thailand Chapter's honor. PMI Thailand stands among 61 milestone chapters recognized in this initiative. Together, these chapters contributed to the planting of 6,100 trees across Kenya and Madagascar in 2026 — a collective act of environmental stewardship that reflects the global reach of the PMI community.
More Than Symbolic: Real, Measurable Impact
The trees planted through this initiative are not ceremonial. The Evertreen partnership is designed to deliver tangible results across three dimensions:
- Community support — providing livelihoods and economic opportunity for local farmers and communities in the planting regions
- Climate impact — actively offsetting CO₂ emissions through natural carbon sequestration
- Accountability — creating measurable, trackable environmental outcomes that can be monitored over time
Members, partners, and supporters can follow the growth of this living tribute through the live Evertreen forest dashboard, which tracks the chapter's trees in real time: https://lnkd.in/d Tsqgabt
Earth Day and the Responsibility That Comes with History
The timing of this announcement — coinciding with Earth Day on April 22 — was no accident. As the world pauses to reflect on our shared responsibility to the planet, PMI Thailand's 25-year milestone takes on deeper meaning. Project management, at its core, is about creating change responsibly: defining outcomes, managing resources, and delivering results that matter. This tree-planting initiative embodies exactly that spirit — extending the chapter's definition of "impact" beyond professional development and into environmental leadership. For a chapter that has spent 25 years helping professionals manage complexity, lead teams, and drive organizational results across Thailand, this is a natural evolution: applying the discipline of project management to the challenges that matter most.
Thank You
This milestone belongs to everyone who has been part of the PMI Thailand Chapter's journey. To our members, whose engagement keeps this community alive and growing. To our volunteers, whose dedication powers every event, every initiative, and every connection made. And to our partners, whose collaboration makes work like this possible. Twenty-five years. One hundred trees. Thousands of professionals. And a forest in East Africa quietly growing in our name. Here's to the next 25 years — and the impact we've yet to create.
