CAPM Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the CAPM credential, you must meet educational and professional experience requirements. All project management experience must have been accrued within the last eight consecutive years prior to your application submission.

Educational BackgroundProject Experience
Secondary diploma (high school diploma or global equivalent)AND1,500 hours of professional experience on a project team.
OR
Secondary diploma (high school diploma or global equivalent) Minimum 3 years/36 months unique non-overlapping professional project management experience during which at least 4,500 hours were spent leading or directing the project. 23 contact hours of formal education.

The A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide) defines a project as a temporary endeavor undertaken to create a unique product, service, or result.
