Our Membership
Since its launch in year 1999, the Project Management Institute Bangkok Chapter
has grown from 25 charter members to more than 125 members by the end of 2006. The
PMI Bangkok Chapter is the only organization directly supporting project management
professionals in Thailand. The Chapter Board of Directors is committed to providing
members with a wide range of services and benefits to assist them in their career.
Benefits
A number of benefits are available exclusively to members of the PMI Bangkok Chapter.
Books for Sale
PMI Bangkok Chapter members are entitled to purchase books on project
management related topics from a limited selection stocked by the Chapter.
Discounted Meeting and Event Fees
PMI Bangkok Chapter members receive a discount on the monthly meeting
fees. Discounts also apply to other Chapter events, such as field trips, social
events, etc.
Library
PMI Bangkok Chapter members may borrow books at no charge from the Chapter’s
extensive library of project management literature. 45+ titles are currently available,
covering a wide array of topics from introductory project management to advanced
topics for the seasoned project professional.
Members Only Meetings
PMI Bangkok Chapter members are eligible to attend exclusive “members
only” meetings arranged annually by the Chapter.
Networking
Membership at the PMI Bangkok Chapter provides excellent opportunities
to network with the Chapter’s 125+ members who all have a vested interest in the
advancement and practice of project management in the Kingdom of Thailand. Our membership
represents more than 60 companies in a variety of industries, such as banking, energy,
engineering, construction, finance, information technology, retailing, and telecommunications,
as well as Thai universities and government organizations.
Opportunity to Serve on the Board of Directors
PMI Bangkok Chapter members may volunteer to be nominated for vacant
Chapter board of directors positions. Serving on the board is an excellent opportunity
to contribute to the Chapter and the development of project management in Thailand.
Elected officers who are accredited with the CAPM or PMP certification can claim
up to 10 PDU’s per 12-month period they serve as board members, limited to a maximum
of 20 PDU’s per 3-year certification cycle.
Registration of PDU’s
For PMI Bangkok Chapter members who are accredited with the CAPM or PMP
certification, the Chapter will handle the registration of PDU’s earned by attending
Chapter meetings and events with PMI.
Résumé Posting
PMI Bangkok Chapter members may post their résumés in the “members
only” section of the Chapter website, http://www.pmithai.org,
for viewing by other Chapter members.
Voting Rights
PMI Bangkok Chapter members are eligible to cast their votes in the annual
ballot for election of Chapter officers to serve on the Chapter board of directors.
Web Mail with pmithai.org E-mail Address
Members get their own mailbox on the Chapter website, http://www.pmithai.org,
with a personalized pmithai.org e-mail address.
How to Become a Member
To become a member of the PMI Bangkok Chapter, you must first be a member in good
standing with PMI. The price of PMI membership is USD 119 for regular members and
USD 30 for students plus a USD 10 processing fee (the first time you apply). To
become a PMI Member, please follow the link below to go to the PMI on-line membership
page. Also, please make sure that you include that you wish to join the Bangkok,
Thailand Chapter. The membership dues for the PMI Bangkok Chapter are USD 25 for
regular members and USD 10 for students.
