As part of our initiatives to increase membership benefits and opportunities for professional development, the PMI BangkokChapter is organizing a workshop “Introduction to Portfolio and Risk management” on Saturday May 10, 2014. The workshop will be hosted at Novotel Ploenchit and is scheduled between 08:00 and 18:00.

The event is open to both PMI Bangkok Chapter members and non-members. The Workshop will be delivered in English.

 

Workshop Title:  Introduction to Project Risk Management

This half day course introduces the basic concept of Project Risk Management process and control practices using tools and techniques and discuss why Project Manager should apply a recognized Risk Management processes.

This course is primarily designed for project managers or project team members who require a better understanding of risk management in their projects. Individuals taking this course should have at least two years of experience working on project teams.

Workshop Title:  Introduction to Project Portfolio Management

Project Portfolio Management since we last introduced the subject in the Bangkok PMI chapter has
grown to include a PMI PPM certification, PPM vendor tool offerings are now much more ready
and less expensive being offered in the cloud as well as in house solutions.! !
As businesses look for closer strategic alignment and execution of their strategy, the PPM model
has matured to include how a portfolio of projects link to a company’s strategic goals. Indeed
Google, Apple and leading companies are using this approach to invest in future projects.! !
Introductory PMI presentations have introduced Project Porfolio Management before. Now a half
day introduces the subject with a specific exercise in creating the criteria to select projects and
establishing the framework and supporting charts to select the projects for future execution. Most
importantly focuses on an introduction on how to do strategic alignment using the balanced
scorecard.!
